Why "wind and gold" photography?

Ever since I was young, I have been infatuated with the season of Fall. I love everything about it. The smell of bonfires, leaves crunching under my shoes, apple cider, pumpkin carving, you name it. I have a mutual love for reading (for a solid 3 months in college I declared an English Literature major - ha). Anyways, in Henry David Thoreau's Walden, he writes, "autumn came with wind and gold". I loved it. It encompassed everything I felt so passionately about the season of fall in one simple statement. More than that, the entire book of Walden is about appreciating natural, earthly beauty over vanity and materialism. This is how I wanted to structure my photography business. I want to make it about capturing true, real beauty and love as opposed to posed, routine, and generic images.

How far in advance do I need to book?

I typically book weddings anywhere from a couple months to over a year out. I recommend reaching out as soon as possible to see if I have your date available as some of them can fill up pretty quickly - especially Saturdays! The same goes for engagement sessions. As for portrait, family, and lifestyle sessions, I do not book these more than 6 months out from your desired session date.

I want to hire you, what now?

First off, YAY! I am thrilled that you would like to work with me. I simply ask for a non-refundable 25% retainer fee to reserve the date of your wedding. For engagement, lifestyle and portrait sessions I require a 50% non-refundable retainer fee. I also require a signed contract, which you will receive via email. If you would like to book me, your initial steps are to reach out via the contact section.

Where do you work?

I'm based in Nashville, TN but I love to travel and am always open, willing, and excited to shoot events that are located in other places! If you are interested in hiring me for a destination wedding or anywhere outside of the middle Tennessee area, just shoot me a message and we can definitely work something out! Location is no obstacle.

How long will it take to get my photos?

Each event is different. For weddings, you can expect your images to be delivered within 3-6 weeks, however you will receive a preview of of around 5 photos within the first week. Engagements, portraits, family sessions can expect a turn around time of roughly 14 days.

How do you deliver my photos?

Your photos will be delivered to you in a couple of ways. You will receive electronic, downloadable versions of the images with unlimited printing rights. In addition, if you are a wedding client, I love to include small gift for you as a Thank You for letting me be a part of your special day! You will receive this via mail and it will include a few pre-printed images as well as some other goodies to go along with your gallery.

Do you recommend a second shooter?

Typically, YES. If you are hiring me for a wedding, it is almost necessary to have a second shooter. It is nearly impossible for me alone to get each image you will want on your special day. I want to make sure you get a photo of all the important moments on your wedding day, and we can assure that will happen with a backup shooter. Many of my wedding packages include a second shooter. Please inquire via the contact form about pricing and wedding packages for more info.

Do you edit all of the photos you deliver to us?

Sure do! As a photographer and business owner, it is important than i have consistency with my editing and branding. I want to be sure that you are pleased with the look of each photo delivered to you and that it directly reflects the style and aesthetic of my portfolio.
